Eileen M. Van Aken received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg.,She is currently an Associate Professor and Assistant Department Head in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Virginia Tech.

She also serves as Director of the Enterprise Engineering Research Laboratory where she conducts research and teaches in the areas of performance measurement, organizational transformation, lean production, and team-based work systems.

Prior to joining the faculty at Virginia Tech, she was a Process Engineer with AT&T Microelectronics, Richmond, VA.,Dr. Van Aken is a member of ASEM, ASQ, ASEE, a senior member of IIE, and a fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science.
